Welcome to the USS Thames!
"The price of greatness is responsibility." - Winston Churchill
The Federation has experienced more profound changes in the past half-century than it has at almost any other point in its two-hundred- and thirty-year history. Although there have been challenges along the way, Federation policy makers hope to once again look outward towards scientific exploration and diplomatic cooperation during this renewed period of peace.
Many in Starfleet are equally eager to return the organization to its roots. For some, this means serving on the very edge of known space as they explore the furthest reaches of what is often referred to as “the final frontier”. For the vast majority, however, it means preserving and protecting what the Federation has built and what it stands for.
The USS Thames (NCC-80629) is a Norway-class starship assigned to Starfleet’s Eleventh Fleet. Designed as part of a fleet modernization effort in response to the Borg and incorporating the latest upgrades created and pioneered by vessels such as the USS Voyager, the Thames’ mission is to protect Federation interests, to help those in need, and to deepen Starfleet’s understanding of the region known as “Galactic South”.
